Are You "Barrier Free?"

It only takes one instance of refusing to provide communication access to trigger the Department of Justice’s Barrier Free Healthcare team to set it’s sights on your facility. Don’t believe it? Just ask Dr. Arshad Pervez, whose Lincoln Park, MI office failed to provide an ASL interpreter after one request. He entered into a settlement agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice in July of 2015 and agreed to comply with Title III of the ADA and was monitored for the next three years.
